Full Hug Route
THE Grizzly Gravel Hugger Full Hug route showcases the varied terrain and rugged charm of the region. Riders will tackle a mix of major and minor forest service roads, hard-packed fast gravel, loose sandy stretches, and the unique "Forest Floor" paths, where the gravel gives way to untouched natural trails.
Set largely on a plateau, this route minimizes the sustained climbs often found in the area, making for a balanced experience with steady pacing and faster speeds. Covering a minimum of 80 miles with 6,000 feet of climbing and potentially extending up to 100 miles, the Full Hug offers a challenging yet approachable journey for gravel enthusiasts.
For those who prefer a bite-sized serving of gravel adventure, the Grizzly Gravel Hugger Half Hug offers just that—half the distance, half the climbing, and half the opportunity to regret signing up. At roughly 40-50 miles, this route lets you experience only half the awesomeness of the region's diverse terrains, but hey, that’s still plenty!
You'll tackle hard-packed gravel, loose sandy stretches, and maybe a taste of those quirky "Forest Floor" roads. Unlike the full route, the Half Hug keeps things compact while still delivering a balanced blend of terrain and manageable climbs, proving that great rides don’t have to go the full distance.
